WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"Everyone that's been here in our house is extremely grateful for the kindness and how this program goes out of it's way to do all it does. It's the little things that mean the most!"
~ Nate
"This program means so much to so many people! The world needs more of this!"
~ Scott
"I want to say thank you for all this program does for these houses; it's definitely a huge gesture and we greatly appreciate it!"
~ Sean
“I never thought I would end up in this position of where my life is heading now. I have been on a very bright journey these past few months and I can’t express how much gratitude we all have for you here. It really shows a huge reflection of the kindness in your heart.
We greatly appreciate you!”
~ Love Always, Lucas
“First off I would like to say thank you for all the generous donations. I didn’t know how much time, effort and love you have given us; even though some of us didn’t know how we got the gifts of food, bread, pastries and toiletries, it didn’t go unnoticed.
I first came into recovery on New Year’s Eve 2020 and my road to the home (both the mindset and the place) has been filled with ups and downs, but people like you and the people who come in everyday to help people like me have changed my life. Before I got to treatment I was living a lie, I didn’t appreciate my family and I didn’t appreciate myself. All the harm I was doing to myself and to the people around me was …..”it is what it is!”
It wasn’t very easy to look at all the wrongs I did and try to change but again, people like you have helped me, in too many ways to count! You’re truly making a difference and I aspire to have the selflessness that you have to help others.
Thank you for all you do. I will definitely appreciate the Panera bread donations more knowing how they came to us. Thank you and God bless."
~ Jake
“I appreciate everything you have done for us. Some days I feel down, but when I wake up and see that there are bagels and snacks it’s nice to see that there are people out there that care about us.
Overall, thank you for brightening our days.”
~ Nicolas
“What led me into treatment was a bad night drugging and a lot of mistakes. Long story short, I got arrested for multiple things.
The recovery I’m currently in has been the best decision I have ever made, this place is helping me get my life together and they’re teaching me to get through things sober. I’m taking college courses and have A’s in them! I never thought this would be possible, I thought the only thing I was going to be doing in life was getting high and partying.
I also really appreciate all the food and supplies that are given to the house. I appreciate all of the amazing meals!”
~ John
Making a difference, one soul at a time.
“We all appreciate what you do for us; from bagels to bed sheets you have made the fellas lives a little brighter on many occasions.
It's that spark that the Staley program provides that makes the difference between having a difficult day in recovery and a grand day.
Thank you and the program for everything that you do!”
Sincerely,
Harry F.
The Train That Never Came:
J.L.
Driving home and in a hurry as usual I was forced to stop as the train guards came down in front me. I was first in line so I could see straight down both sides of the tracks but I wasn’t seeing a train anywhere in sight! This caused me to start observing the area and it was then that I noticed him.
I’m not sure of his name or anything about him for that matter but what I did notice was that he was lying on a sunken bench in the hot sun.
I felt a strong urge to help him.
There I was still waiting for the train and still looking down both sides of the tracks for it but it never came!
The train guards came up and I was free to drive on. I passed the man and said, I’ll be right back….though he couldn’t hear me I said it anyway.
I went home to gather supplies, water bottles, granola bars, trail mix and toiletries. I placed all these items in a backpack that was donated to The Staley Program and hoped he would still be there, he was.
This man was so grateful and had the train guards not stopped me in my tracks I would’ve missed helping this guy.
The point of telling this story is me having hope to bring awareness of what we might see if we took a moment to stop and look around us.
The Staley Program helps when and where it's possible, the epidemic is all around us and worsening! Help us be the change!
Who can you help today? 💖
